Sensor data should be open, free-flowing and easily accessible. It would be awesome if there was a place where you could store, share and manage your sensors with just a couple of mouse clicks, eh? GeoCENS lets you publish your sensor and its data in an intuitive and coherent environment. Unleash the power of your sensors, use GeoCENS.
GeoCENS Sensor Observation Service (SOS) is an scalable and high performance server/web service that allows you to publish and query your sensor data. GeoCENS SOS provides a way to unlock your sensors and free them from proprietary information systems that exist today. GeoCENS SOS does this by applying and building upon the international open geoweb standards, such as Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Sensor Web Enablement (SWE) standards. OGC SWE standards have been widely adopted by industry and government agencies (such as Environment Canada, NOAA, USGS) to manage and publish their sensor data. Among other features, it provides:
- A RESTful HTTP/JSON API accessible from many programming libraries and tools
- A web service based Restlet application to allow users upload data to CouchDB
- A browser based GUI for uploading data
